About Us
Cost Centre Services started in 1999 by offering a traditional Cost Reduction service. However we soon discovered huge opportunities in providing a raft of bespoke services which concentrated on providing our clients with a very high level of aftercare support. These activities lead to further savings for the client and superior income streams for us - mostly at the expense of energy suppliers!
We have devoped specialist skills in areas which seem to have been ignored and our results (which merely add to our Cost Reduction skills) have been outstandlingly succesful. For example we carry out historical and ongoing audits where the level of error billing by energy suppliers is significant. The situation is made worse because clients are unable to verify charges, understand their bills or know where to begin in challenging them.
Cost Centre Services has developed a unique and bespoke on line software (the Client Management Centre) which enables real time updating to manage all aspects of (currently) energy procurement and management through to audits. The software is at the very heart of what we stand for. For example it immediately identifies incorrect energy billing, identifies overcharging and provides the tools for us to negotiate supplier refunds.
Other valuable activities include creating Tender documents, alerting contract end dates, automatic budget forecasting, year to date versus actuals etc. These services are all on line for a client to view. It provides a total "one stop" solution and ensures the very minimum of administration for us. The whole concept and operation is designed around the highest levels of effeciency.
Our service has recovered or saved clients hundreds of thousands of pounds and is a simple but very valuable asset to any business.
Another area we give terrific and meaningful assistance, is to businesses facing threats by energy suppliers demanding claims for their own error billing. We audit the claims, negotiate with suppliers and secure a result. One particular example is where a demand for £46,000 was reduced to £16,000 through our intervention. There are few agencies able to offer businesses this type of help and advice when they experience such a situation. Most businesses will suffer energy billing problems during their life (they all have a story to tell!).
We seek to expand and develop our client base by recruiting Senior Associates able to introduce new clients, and operate their own Cost Centre Services business without restriction in the UK. Income streams come from a variety of sources and are in the main passive and regular. This creates a series of income 'layers' which carry on building year after year. This is not a business which requires a large client base, a mixture of around 30 SME businesses should provide a good income year after year.
For the future, our plans include developing the Client Management Centre software to incorporate any number of overhead categories and in particular prepare for the deregulation of water services (which will be 'the next big thing'). We are also currently involved with carrying out historical audits for a number of NHS Trusts and see considerable openings for our services (and our software) in these and other areas. Senior Associates will be able to market these services in addition to their core activities.
The Cost Centre Services concept is of course valid whether times are Boom or Bust although another strength is being able to operate in a low key but discrete way without promotion or fanfair. Our services are mostly recommended by word of mouth and we go about business with confidence and little if no competition.
Applicants need an active mind, a detective mentality, an ability to 'dig up' evidence and 'follow their noses'. The financial rewards can be high, but equally so, is the satisfaction of providing a niche and valuable service to businesses who simply haven't the time, expertise or knowledge to take on suppliers.
"If you don't look then you can't find".
Cost Centre Services is ISO 9001:2000 and Data Protected registered.
